Telematics specialist Lightfoot has formed a strategic partnership with Drax Electric Vehicles, aimed at supporting fleet and facilities managers in their transition to electric vehicles (EVs).
Under the agreement, Lightfoot’s in-cab telematics technology will be offered to Drax customers, providing insights into vehicle usage, driver behaviour and operational efficiency.
The integration complements Drax’s existing services, which span planning, installing, and managing charging infrastructure for fleets across the UK.
By leveraging Lightfoot’s open-platform system, fleet operators can access advanced analytics via Drax’s My Electric Vehicles portal, enabling smarter decisions on electrification and operational performance.
Paul Hollick (pictured), CEO of Lightfoot, said: “Our solution helps businesses make the shift from ICE to EVs with access to crucial data on hardware, fleet vehicles and drivers.
“Drax provides fleets with a roadmap for electrification, and when you overlay our vehicle data, you get the full picture. Businesses can electrify with complete confidence.”
With Lightfoot’s real-time driver coaching, fleets typically see a 15% increase in EV range, while engagement tools such as competitions and rewards drive up efficiency and reduce incidents.
Data from more than a billion miles annually helps organisations assess readiness for electrification, improve sustainability, and cut costs.
Naomi Nye, head of sales at Drax, added: “We already help organisations plan and manage their charging infrastructure. This partnership adds a new layer of insight.
“Lightfoot’s data gives fleet and facilities managers the evidence they need to start their electrification journey and optimise fuel and cost efficiencies.”
The partnership is expected to accelerate EV adoption across Drax’s growing client base and boost long-term customer engagement with Lightfoot’s driver behaviour technology, which is already used by major brands such as Tesco and Virgin Media.
