Fleet technology specialist Lightfoot has confirmed the continued development of its partnership with Global Autocare (Global), which has become an approved installer.

Global is an independent leasing, rental, and fleet mobility provider, and has integrated Lightfoot’s driver-behaviour technology into its fleet solutions.

Global aims to enable customers to cut fuel use, lower emissions, drive more safely in an effort to reduce collisions, and achieve faster time-to-road for newly deployed vehicles by integrating Lightfoot’s system.

Martin Kadhim, partnership director at Lightfoot, said: “What’s been so successful about our partnership with Global is that it uses our technology in very innovative ways across all types of fleets.

“Often our customers are looking to use our solutions for commercial vehicles, which is not surprising because we have a strong reputation for delivering a return on investment in that segment.

“Global is a very creative business, and always looking to find new solutions to the issues its customers face. As a result, it has installed Lightfoot in all types of vehicles and for all types of usages from pool cars to vans.”

As vehicle lead times and operational demands continue to evolve, Global Autocare’s customers increasingly rely on smart data to manage their fleets.

Lightfoot’s telematics and in-cab coaching technology has become a central part of this offering.

Steve Chater, commercial director at Global Autocare, said: “For our customers, time-to-road is everything.

“With Lightfoot, we can fit telematics immediately, and often the same day a vehicle arrives. That flexibility is a game-changer.

“It means no downtime for the customer and faster deployment across their fleet.”

As a result, Global is now a certified Lightfoot installer, enabling them to integrate the system in-house across the vehicles arriving daily at their Leeds logistics centre.

This approval aims to cut installation times, improve responsiveness and add value for clients with urgent mobility needs.

The estate agent Lomond Group has installed Lightfoot in 320 of its 800-plus cars supplied by Global, saving 56 tonnes of CO₂ and nearly £25,000 in fuel since installing Lightfoot.

Stephanie Hanington, fleet and telematics manager at Lomond, said: “Our insurance was a big reason why we looked into telematics as well, and we’ve seen our claims actually halve year-on-year, which has been absolutely incredible.”

Chater added: “Lomond estate agents either have their own branded vehicle, or use one of the pool cars, and we installed Lightfoot in all of them.

“The result is a win-win for everyone. Lomond knows its drivers are safer and more efficient, and so they save money, reduce emissions and can be confident their employees are representing the company well when they’re out on the road.

“For us, we know that these extremely hard-working vehicles are driven well and looked after, which can lead to the vehicles having less damage and being in better condition in life, and on return.

“We only recommend products we trust to our customers, and Lightfoot has proven itself.

“Customers tell us their drivers are safer, their fuel costs are down, and their carbon footprint is improving.

“Using Lightfoot has resulted in better understanding of real fleet utilisation, enabled informed decisions about fleet size and deployment and enhanced duty-of-care compliance.

“In today’s market, those benefits matter more than ever.”

Chater added: “From EV charging infrastructure investments to bulk procurement strategies that minimise lead times, Global Autocare continues to enhance its fleet offering, supported by Lightfoot’s technology as a core component.”
