The Logistics UK Non-Executive Board has voted to extend Phil Roe’s tenure as the organisation’s president for another two years, continuing his leadership until 2027.
Roe, who first became president in April 2022 following five years as a non-executive director, has led efforts to elevate the industry’s voice with ministers and policymakers. His tenure has seen the formation of the Presidents Council in 2023, a forum connecting C-suite logistics leaders across the sector, as well as the expansion of Executive Membership, which now counts more than 100 board-level members engaging in policy dialogue.
He also serves as executive sponsor of the Generation Logistics campaign, which has won multiple awards and in its first two years significantly increased awareness of careers in the sector among 13 to 24-year-olds.
“Nothing moves without logistics, literally nothing. Logistics UK is the only business group in the sector that brings together people who move goods, and those with goods to move. A stronger, more resilient logistics sector can generate over £8bn a year in GDP, so there’s a huge prize for the whole country and the economy if we can make logistics more efficient – and I’m delighted to continue to lead that charge,” said Roe.
Prior to his work with Logistics UK, Roe held senior positions at XPO and DHL, where he was a board director at DHL Supply Chain. He also serves as a non-executive director and trustee at Transaid.
