Lotus has launched a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant of its Eletre electric vehicle (EV), named the Electre X, or the Lotus For Me in the Chinese market.
The Eletre X has 952PS, combining an internal combustion engine (ICE), two electric motors and a 70kWh battery.
Electric range is around 217 miles, while combined range is 746 miles.
Lotus has not released further details on the ICE’s specifications.
European deliveries are expected in Q4 2026.
It can accelerate to 62mph in 3.3 seconds and can charge from 20% to 80% in nine minutes.
Lotus said the Eletre X has the industry’s most powerful hybrid generator, rated at 150kW, enabling it to produce up to 25kWh per hour in ideal conditions to recharge the battery.
The Eletre X will have six powertrain modes, enabling it to act as an EV, a hybrid, or a range extended EV using the engine to charge the battery but not power the wheels.
It features 48V active anti-roll bars and air suspension with dual-valve dampers to improve handling.
Brembo six-piston front brakes are equipped as standard.
The Electre X has an active rear spoiler with four modes, enabling up to 120kg of downforce to be generated.
Qingfeng Feng, CEO at Lotus Tech, said: “With For Me, we are proving that advanced technology must serve the drivers, not replace them — delivering constant performance, total control, and real safety in every condition, so that consumers can enjoy the emotion of driving and the confidence of protecting what matters most.
“Quoting the famous Pirelli campaign: ‘Power is nothing without control’. That is why our electric-first hybrid pairs supercar figures — up to 952 PS and 0–100 km/h in 3.3 seconds — with a 900V architecture, 9 minutes 20–80% fast charging and a 150 kW generator, enabling 350 km of pure electric freedom and over 1,200 km combined range.
“The result is effortless performance without range anxiety, every journey, every day.”
