Lotus updates Emira

Lotus has updated the Emira, the brand’s final combustion-powered sports car, with new models and boosted performance.

All models will now have an improved cooling system, for better on-track performance, and new air-conditioning calibration, increasing its effectiveness in hot climates.

The entry-level ‘Emira Turbo’ uses the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, sourced from Mercedes-AMG, with 40PS less than the existing Emira Turbo SE, for a total of 360PS.

Like all 2.0-litre models, the Emira Turbo is available exclusively with an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which has been re-calibrated for faster shift times.

The Emira Turbo will lose the sports suspension and two-piece brake discs of higher-specification models, as well as the Alcantara interior, and seven-speaker sound system.

However, it will retain electrically adjustable seats, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Lotus’ suite of safety technologies, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Warning, and Fatigue Detection, are still offered as standard on the new model.

An optional ‘Extended Co-Driver pack’ adds Adaptive Cruise Control, Door Opening Warning, and High Beam Assist.

By introducing the new entry-level model, Lotus has brought the Emira’s base price down to £79,500.

A new Emira V6 SE has been introduced, with the 3.5-litre supercharged V6 and tweaked suspension calibration, giving sharper handling, while the manual gearbox now has improved gear change quality.

Red brake callipers, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, and an interior finished with Alcantara, are standard on the new model.

The V6-powered Emira is set to go off-sale sometime in 2026 or 2027, as Euro 7 regulations render the engine unsuitable for sale.

The updated Lotus Emira includes new colours: EOS Green and Purple Haze (pictured), offered across the range.

Emira Turbo SE and V6 SE models now offer a ‘Racing Line’ option, with a pinstripe in yellow, red, or silver, with painted door mirrors and brake callipers to match.

Racing Line models will also get special badging, and black wheels.
