Low Cost Vans launches short-term hire

Clients have the option of short-term hire – to cover projects which may only last a week or two – or for longer-term hire – which could be between six to 12 months plus in duration. The aim is to give businesses the flexibility to expand and reduce fleet size when the demand of additional work requires it.

Low Cost Vans has pivoted its offering based on changing customer demand driven by COVID-19 by unveiling a new short-term van hire division.

LCV Hire allows customers to rent vehicles by the day, providing more flexibility than its traditional offering of long-term lease and contract hire.

The move was partly motivated by a change in demand from Low Cost Vans’ clients on the back of COVID-19-related restrictions and the subsequent economic distribution. After receiving a lot more enquiries for short-term hire and rental arrangements, the company decided to act.

The new unit will be led by Daniel Osman, who joins the company as rental manager. Osman joins the company following 10 years’ experience in the rental industry, working for a wide range of businesses from small family-run firms to large global multinationals.

LCV Hire will offer a wide range of vehicle types and hire duration options for both private and commercial clients.

Commercial clients have the option of short-term hire – to cover projects which may only last a week or two – or for longer-term hire – which could be between six to 12 months plus in duration. The aim is to give businesses the flexibility to expand and reduce fleet size when the demand of additional work requires it.

It will also be offering retail rental for private clients with insurance included in the hire price. Individuals wanting to move to a new home or transport large items can choose from a wide selection of vehicles, ranging from small vans to large Luton vans with a tail lift, hiring the vehicle by the day. LCV Hire aims to be the best value option for van hire for both commercial and private clients.

Osman said: “I have spent a lot of time in my career working B2B. One of  my main thoughts coming into my new role at LCV Hire, is that when we supply a vehicle to a business, it is a relationship that requires an understanding of how that business operates. It’s then a case of working with them to ensure that they have the right vehicles to do the job they need to do.

“It’s vital that we keep customers moving and minimize any down time for their business. Building strong relationships with customers is key and being honest is an important factor in this. I will never promise something we can’t deliver. I am genuinely excited to start work at LCV Hire and aim to really focus on a customer service first approach.”

Rod Lloyd, Managing Director of Low Cost Vans, said: “The introduction of LCV Hire is a natural extension of this growth. The flexibility it gives to our commercial and private clients means that they can be assured of a top-quality service, without having to enter into a long-term contract. It is tailor made for businesses that have demands that change and who require flexibility over the size of their fleet.”

One of the key areas’ LCV Hire is focused on is the introduction of electric vans for rental. With the availability of electric vans increasing, along with the desire for a greener future, the company sees this as a very important part of its business plan.
