Football finances can be a bit iffy, as we see all too regularly in the sports headlines, but the Conference National side team were forced to use a Vauxhall Movano as a changing room recently…
…but only as part of a publicity stunt to popularise the team’s new away strip.
Luton and Vauxhall (where the van maker’s HQ is situated) have always enjoyed a close relationship, and this was put to good use as eight footballers hid in the back of the big Vauxhall panel van before bursting out in front of invited guests.
“There was a real buzz from the crowd as the players stepped out and the bright orange backdrop showed off the smart navy kit very well,” said Cherie Denton, Community Relations Co-ordinator for Vauxhall.
Apparently Luton don’t intend to use such temporary changing rooms again…but you don’t get much larger panel vans do you?
