Porsche Macan S Diesel
4WD is standard, hooked up to Porsche’s 7-speed PDK gears. All very slick

All Macan models feature all-wheel drive, Porsche’s seven-speed PDK auto transmission with  multi-function sport steering wheel and paddle shifts, and alloy wheels that go up to 21 inches, although 18 inch alloys are standard on the S1) and S Diesel2), while the Turbo 3) gets 19 inch alloy wheels.

Also included is a high-performance audio system, and an electrically operated tailgate.

Also standard is active all-wheel drive with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system. If you want to go off road, push a button and the system automatically shifts to off-road mode and at speeds up to 50mph.

On the options list there’s air suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) system (intelligently distributes torque to the wheels that require the drive), and Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus), which continuously adjusts the headlight level in keeping with the traffic ahead and oncoming traffic.

The Porsche Macan will be made at Leipzig in Germany where Porsche has invested 500 million euro (£420m) in the plant.

No confirmation yet on UK prices for the Porsche Macan. But if you want one, start your financial planning now!
