ACCORDING to a a recent study of latest annual garage labour rates by Warranty Wise, this year, the highest hourly UK charge for mechanical work was a shocking £215.

Of course, not all garages charge this rate but – rather unsurprisingly – anyone living in the capital can expect to face a £91.99 average hourly fee.

This survey does take into account figures from franchised and non-franchised garages so the chances are, if you are leasing a car that is new, you will be even be paying more than the quoted average.
