Manheim, part of Cox Automotive, has been recognised at the Business Vans awards for its exceptional performance and ongoing investment in the commercial vehicle auction market. The business operates the largest vendor network and provides the widest stock selection in the UK, catering to a buyer base of over 4,500 dealers. With more than 700 auction events annually across seven dedicated sites, Manheim has cemented its position as a key partner for SME fleet operators sourcing used vans.

To meet growing demand for reliable second-hand vehicles, Manheim invested a seven-figure sum in transforming its Gloucester site into the UK’s largest physical auction venue for commercial vehicles. This site now hosts fortnightly events that are expected to generate £15 million in monthly sales of vans, trucks and plant. The launch of the new facility achieved record results, with 5,270 accepted bids and £4.2 million of assets sold in a single event. A strong first-time conversion rate of 83.6% was reported, with some vendors achieving 100% sales, and in-person attendance driving competitive bidding activity.

Manheim has also demonstrated leadership in vehicle assessment by becoming the first auction provider to implement the NAMA LCV grading standard. This system, which the company helped to develop, uses a six-tier scale tailored to the typical usage and condition of light commercial vehicles. For sellers, the grading offers improved insight into reconditioning and reserve setting, while buyers benefit from clearer information that helps match stock to specific requirements.

Beyond auction activity, Manheim provides support services to van operators through detailed market insights and expert advice. The company distributes over 2,600 valuations each month, offers content such as The Gavel and Insight Quarterly, and collaborates with key industry bodies including SMMT, Glass’s, and TfL. This approach helps businesses navigate the used van market with greater confidence and accuracy.

For its dedication to providing an industry-leading, customer-centric commercial vehicle auction programme, Manheim stood out amongst this year’s entries, attracting high praise from our judging panel.
