AlphaCity car sharing is the most cost effective way to ensure our homeowners are able to keep appointments, go shopping, visit family and generally continue to live a great quality of life

ALPHABET has added the AlphaCity car sharing scheme to its McCarthy & Stone portfolio to provide retired homeowners with hassle-free flexible transport.

An AlphaCity vehicle gives the homeowners a cost effective travel solution to help them live their retirement to the full without worrying about maintenance, cleaning and other ownership chores.

The AlphaCity car was delivered to McCarthy & Stone in Cumbria where homeowners celebrated its arrival, were introduced to the vehicle and received training from Alphabet’s experts on its unique in-built technology.

Alphabet has been working on a sole supply basis with leading retirement home developer McCarthy & Stone since 2009 and it takes contract hire with maintenance, AlphaRent, accident management, driver risk, and now AlphaCity to help keep homeowners on the road in the most economical and efficient way possible. With a 70% share of the owner-occupied retirement housing market, the company has built 50,000 apartments in over 1,000 locations.

Fiona Brooks, McCarthy & Stone’s sales and marketing director, said: “This scheme has been fundamental in offering our homeowners a fantastic alternative to owning a car, it gives them the freedom to have flexible use of transport without the responsibility of owning a car.

“For us, AlphaCity car sharing is the most cost effective way to ensure our homeowners are able to keep appointments, go shopping, visit family and generally continue to live a great quality of life. I would like to thank Alphabet for providing the service and helping us educate our homeowners in how to use the on-board technology.”

Chris Cole, Alphabet’s corporate account manager, added: “Providing an AlphaCity car to McCarthy and Stone was a fresh challenge for us as we move into a new area of business.

“We were conscious that the right form of transport could change homeowners’ lives in retirement and wanted to ensure we provided the right solution. We worked closely with McCarthy & Stone in implementing AlphaCity to make sure that both staff and homeowners were educated on how to use the keyless technology and booking system – this makes their lives easier and boosts confidence in the scheme.

“We are able to help keep homeowners on the road safely and efficiently for the business, and most importantly, the individual.”
