Mercedes-Benz Trucks revealed a further expansion of its network in Scotland with the opening of an authorised repairer, Auto Services Perth.

The service, repair and parts sales facility received an investment of £1.75m, creating around 15 jobs in the local area.

Built on a 1.25-acre site, the repairer will have trained technicians to repair and maintain electric trucks and extend the reach of the Mercedes-Benz Truck network for commercial operators in Scotland.

The workshop features eight fully equipped work bays, a dedicated inspection pit lane for truck inspections and repairs, and an authorised tachograph calibration, repairs and installation centre.

Extended opening hours will operate from 7:00am to midnight to ensure minimal disruption to operators’ working schedules.

Auto Services Perth also operates 17 recovery vehicles capable of handling 44-tonne HGVs.

Roddy Davie, general manager at Auto Services Perth, said: “Perth is known as the gateway to the Highlands and we have an excellent new workshop in an ideal location, designed to meet the needs of truck operators in the north with the added ability to recover their vehicles if required into our workshop from anywhere in Scotland.”

Steve Crozier, founder and director of Auto Services Perth, added: “This new facility for Daimler Truck UK marks an exciting new chapter for our family business.

“Our story began in the early 1970s when my father and I opened our first garage in a small unit in Perth town centre and recognised there was a need for servicing and repairs of commercial vehicles.

“We have always understood that these vehicles represent the livelihood of their owners.

“That sense of family, care, and dedication is what drives us forward, and it will continue to shape everything we do in Perth and beyond.”

Leonhard Niemann, head of dealer network development at Daimler Truck UK, said: “As a family-run business, we see this new authorised repairer as more than just a facility but an opportunity to serve new communities while continuing to deliver the quality and care our current customers value.

“We look forward to welcoming operators into our Perth site.

“This new site will ensure operators in the region have access to the outstanding service and support they expect from the Mercedes-Benz Trucks network.”
