Mercedes-Benz has revealed the VLE, an electric passenger van, the first model on its latest modular and scalable van architecture.
It has a range of up to 435 miles and can add 221 miles of range in 15 minutes, due to its 800V architecture.
Available configurations include an eight-seat shuttle and a five-seater with the Grand Comfort Seat, an electrically adjustable, massaging seat with folding tables and calf support.
Models with electrically adjustable seats can be reconfigured through the Mercedes-Benz App, either maximising passenger space, luggage space or offering a compromise.
Manually adjustable seats can be removed fully, providing 4,078 litres of luggage space.
The Mercedes-Benz VLE has a towing capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes braked.
The first model will be the VLE 300 electric, with the longest range and 276PS, while a model with 4MATIC all wheel drive and up to 408PS will be available later.

Available features include AIRMATIC air suspension, rear axle steering which gives the van a turning circle of 10.9 metres, a 31-inch screen for rear passengers that retracts into the headliner and electric sliding doors on each side with HANDS-FREE Access.
Standard-fit advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) include DISTRONIC adaptive cruise control, Lane Change Assist, Collision Prevention Manoeuvring and 10 cameras.
MB.DRIVE ASSIST is available optionally, adding semi-autonomous steering on motorways.
