Motor Fuel Group (MFG) has added Plug & Charge functionality to 95% of its electric vehicle (EV) charging network, in partnership with Octopus Electroverse.
Customers can now plug in and charge EVs instantly, without needing to use an app or scan a card.
Plug & Charge establishes an encrypted connection between compatible EVs and charging stations, then automatically completes payment through the Octopus Electroverse account associated with the car.
MFG said it invested in Plug & Charge to improve convenience for EV drivers.
Martin Symes, EV director at MFG, said: “At MFG, we’re committed to making the EV transition as easy as possible for drivers.
“By enabling Plug & Charge across almost our entire network, we’re removing frustrating inefficiencies and delivering the seamless, reliable charging experience our customers deserve.
“This is another major step in our ongoing investment to support the UK’s shift to EVs, making MFG the first major UK network to deliver this game-changing convenience at scale.”
Matt Davies, Director at Octopus Electroverse, said: “Charging your car should be as easy as plugging in your phone – and now it is.
“With Plug & Charge, drivers can simply plug in and go, with everything happening automatically in the background.
“No apps, no cards, no faff. We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with MFG to bring Plug & Charge to drivers across the UK, making charging simpler, smoother, and a lot more convenient.”
