Company Car Review of the MINI Cooper D five-door
What is it?
A first in the MINI brands’ 55 year history.
We’ve had the MINI in off-roader form with the Countryman. Well it’s time to experience another five-door flavour -with the hatch.
Why a five-door hatch you might ask? With 70 per cent of small fleet buyers choosing five-door bodystyles, MINI had a big hole in its offering.
The UKL1 platform underpinning both the MINI and BMW 2-Series Active Tourer, made a five-door a viable option, so a bigger hatch really was a no brainer.
11mm longer than the three-door and with a 72mm bigger wheelbase, apart from the Cooper D I’ve driven here, the MINI five-door is available in One, One D, Cooper, the Cooper S we’ve also driven and Cooper SD version.
