The PHEV is going to save you a fortune in company car tax – and if you’re a low miler with good access to charging points, it’ll save you another one in fuel

Business Car Manager Verdict

Mitsubishi is bumping up its UK marketing spend from £8m to £20m this year and it’s no surprise.

The Outlander PHEV is a remarkable vehicle that for company car users in particular really makes buying electric a practical option both in terms of the cost and daily use – the headline being a bill of sale that will be no more than a diesel Outlander.

Mitsubishi admits to not knowing how many Outlander PHEVs it will sell, but adds that even if figures greatly exceed the speculated 3000 annual units it can cope.

The biggest problem could be making the mainstream business car buyer to take a fresh look at the brand. Overcome that, get them in the car and show them the figures, and the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV could prove a very big hit.
