Modified Peugeot Boxer takes the fight amongst young adult cancer to the streets

A donated £50,000 bespoke Peugeot Boxer is now ‘on tour’ with the Marcus Rutherford Foundation – raising awareness, promoting wellness and highlighting an unacceptable lack of cancer checks, tests and screening among those in their late teens or early 20s. The foundation was established by 22 year old Marcus Rutherford, who was cruelly diagnosed with Leukaemia as an active, fit and healthy 18-year-old.  Despite his life-threatening blood cancer and countless months in hospital, he found the strength to successfully study for a university degree, pass his driving test, record an album, play at live music venues in England, Wales and Scotland, make several short films, write for a leading national newspaper, and appear on BBC TV and radio. Before passing away in 2012, aged just 22, Marcus selflessly established and part-funded his foundation, which over the last three and a half years, has directly handed many thousands of pounds in grants and equipment to patients in need. Now, the Foundation is determined to raise awareness, offer more advice, and carry out additional research into the causes of young adult cancer with the help of this Peugeot Boxer. The £50,000 Peugeot Boxer battle bus is genuinely unique. Converted n conjunction with members of Marcus’s loyal team in and around University College London Hospital (UCLH), the foundation designed the vehicle’s interior specification and back-up power supplies to be highly professional, practical and flexible.
