Motability partners with Targa Telematics to monitor vehicle health
Targa Telematics will integrate OEM data into Motability Operations' system, helping it reduce the risk of breakdowns.
Motability Operations has partnered with Targa Telematics to monitor vehicle health data of Motability Scheme cars.
Targa Telematics will integrate OEM data into Motability Operations’ system, helping it reduce the risk of breakdowns, improve vehicle off road (VOR) times and improve compliance.
It will leverage connected vehicle technology installed in cars from the factory, meaning no hardware needs to be installed.
Andy Broadfield, managing director of electric and insurance at Motability Operations, said: “The Motability Scheme exists to enable independence for disabled people, providing access to safe, reliable and affordable mobility that helps customers stay connected.
“A dependable vehicle is central to that independence.
“This partnership with Targa Telematics supports our simple model by helping us use vehicle data to better monitor vehicle health, reduce the risk of breakdowns and maintain high standards of safety and compliance.
“By taking a more proactive approach to vehicle maintenance, we can give customers greater confidence in the vehicles they rely on and help to deliver value through the Motability Scheme.”
The solution will be integrated in phases and will eventually cover all Motability Scheme vehicles.
