AWARD-winning Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer group, Rygor Commercials has announced martial arts champion Dan Hardy as its latest brand ambassador.
Hardy, who started his career in mixed martial arts (MMA), is now a UFC commentator and analysist for sports channels and also owns his own gym and production company.
He said: “I am delighted to become a Rygor ambassador. For me, it’s really important that I have a positive relationship with those around me and the people I choose to work with. The Rygor team is really great and the importance they put on well being obviously resonates with me.”
For many years Hardy focused on MMA, but in 2008, moved into the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) field, eager to compete at the next level.
Having worked through a difficult time in his life, Hardy returned to the sport with renewed vigour and persistence. However, a few years later, Hardy was given the news that no athletic ever wants to receive.
“Losing was one thing, but being told I could no longer fight, was another. A few years later that was the news I receive from medics.
“Mentally, this was one of the most challenging things I have had to deal with. I felt helpless – things were completely out of my control. Once again I didn’t know where I was going.
“As luck would have it though, I was soon approached to become a UFC commentator and analyst and my career has continued to progress from there. I have learnt that it really is the journey that’s important, not the destination.”
Paul Reed, Owner Director at Rygor, said: “It is fantastic to have Dan as one of our Rygor Brand Ambassadors.
“He is such a positive and inspiring individual and is exactly the type of person we want representing the Rygor brand.”
Rygor, has branches throughout Berkshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Somerset, West London, Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire, offering extensive coverage for customers throughout the M5, M4 and M42 corridors.
The Rygor business has expanded and gone from strength to strength in recent years, launching its flagship Gloucester branch in late 2016 – which won Showroom of the Year at the 2018 Commercial Motor Awards – and undergoing a significant refurbishment of its Oxford branch in 2018.
