DIGITAL INNK has developed purpose-built compliance tools to help ensure the safety of Britain’s estimated 14 million grey fleet drivers.

Part of the ViSN platform, the compliance tool and automated driving licence checking mean that complex administrative tasks can be completed in minutes.

The driving licence checker allows fleet managers to check licences every three, six or 12 months, depending on the risk profile. Any issues are automatically flagged, and driver legal acceptance is completed with an e-mandate.

Angela Montacute, Chief Executive of Digital INNK, said: “Grey fleet presents a particular set of compliance challenges for the fleet manager. Our AI-powered platform lets the technology do the heavy lifting and makes it easy for drivers to complete essential tasks in minutes.

“Many employers find managing grey fleet vehicles challenging because of a lack of resources and the added challenge of overseeing vehicles that are not directly owned or managed by the organisation. The ViSN platform is easy to use for managers and drivers. Simply load your drivers, switch on, and ViSN does the rest. We use the latest DVLA APIs requiring only the driving license number to ensure both minimum false fails and a rapid robust service.”

According to the Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974, employers are responsible for providing for their employees’ health, safety, and welfare at work, including while driving for work. This is pertinent to grey fleet vehicles since employees who drive for work in their own automobiles are subject to the same legal obligations.

Fleet managers can monitor progress on a cloud-based dashboard, which provides status and exceptions at a glance. While the driver app allows health inspections to be scheduled for completion. Drivers can self-certify that they are fit to drive.
