Volvo Cars has effectively significantly reduced the price of its EX30 electric SUV by the addition of a new entry-level model dubbed Core.
Costing from £32,850 for the single-motor version, the Core is round £3,000 than the Plus model, previous start point of the EX30 range.
The new EX30 Core is available in two forms – the Single Motor offers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 209 miles, while the Single Motor Extended Range, starting at £37,050, extends the maximum range up to 295 miles.

Standard equipment on the Core includes a rear parking camera and sensors, automatic LED headlights with active high beam and 18-inch alloy wheels. The 12.3-inch touchscreen system comes with Google built in, while a sounder is mounted on the dashboard.
Single Motor Extended Range versions are also fitted with a heat pump, working with the climate control system to optimise the car’s power and driving range.
Volvo dealers are now taking orders for the EX30 Core iwith first customer deliveries expected in early 2025.
Meanwhile the seven-seat XC90 large SUV range has undergone a programme of specification upgrades with new Plus Edition and Ultra Edition trim levels replacing the current Plus and Ultra grades.
The Plus Edition adds perforated Nappa leather upholstery with ventilation for the front seats, tinted windows and 21-inch alloy wheels (replacing the previous 20-inch wheels). The Ultra Edition adopts 22-inch wheels (previously they were 21-inch), while the prices for both grades include all exterior paint choices.
Both B5 petrol and T8 petrol-electric plug-in hybrid versions of the XC90 are available with the new trim levels – on-the-road prices start from £69,425 with orders being taken now for Autumn delivery.
