New hybrid variants for Volkswagen Multivan and Caddy

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its line-up of plug-in hybrid van options available in the UK, launching the Multivan eHybrid 4Motion and the Caddy Cargo eHybrid.

The Multivan eHybrid 4Motion is all-wheel-drive, combining the front axle’s engine with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle. Thew motor is powered by a 19.7kWh lithium-ion battery, producing a WLTP-certified range of up to 57.2 miles on electric power alone, without the range anxiety that still occupies the minds of van fleet managers.

Two trim levels are available, dubbed Life and Style, along with two vehicle lengths, Standard and Long Wheelbase. Space is available for up to seven seats as standard, and the same 469 litres of luggage space, extending to 1,844 litres with the rear seats removed.

The Caddy Cargo panel van is now on sale as a plug-in hybrid for the first time, in a choice of three trim levels – Commerce, Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro. Payload is rated at up to 740kg, with the same max load length of 2,150mm and up to 3.7 cubic metres of load volume as its site vehicles.

Both new models are now available to order through a Volkswagen UK Van Centre. Prices for the Caddy Cargo eHybrid start at £28,435 and for the Multivan eHybrid 4Motion £45,465.
