Isuzu UK has unveiled the new D-Max 2.2 diesel at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2026, ahead of first customer deliveries in July.
The updated pick-up replaces the previous 1.9-litre engine with a new 2.2-litre turbo diesel unit, paired with either a new eight-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.
The new powertrain produces 163PS and 400Nm of torque, while retaining a 3.5-tonne towing capacity and payload of up to 1,205kg.
Isuzu said the D-Max continues to feature shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive, allowing drivers to switch between two-wheel and four-wheel drive at speeds of up to 62mph.
Low-range four-wheel drive, rear differential lock and Rough Terrain Mode are fitted as standard across the range.
The revised model line-up includes Single Cab, Extended Cab and Double Cab body styles.
The Utility model is available in Single and Extended Cab form, while DL20 is Double Cab only. DL40 is offered as Extended Cab and Double Cab, with the V-Cross remaining Double Cab only.
Styling updates include a redesigned front grille, revised lighting details and a new Urban Moss metallic paint finish.
DL40 and V-Cross models gain a new 360-degree surround-view camera system using cameras mounted in the grille, tailgate and door mirrors.
The 2026 model year also introduces a new Driver Monitoring System with advanced driver distraction warning and emergency lane keeping functions.
Interior changes include revised seat designs, with cloth trim fitted to DL20 and leather upholstery standard on DL40 and V-Cross models.
Alan Able, managing director at Isuzu UK, said: “The Commercial Vehicle Show marks the debut of The New Isuzu D-Max 2.2 in the UK.
“The 2026 model is set to continue the D-Max’s success in this market, appealing to both owner-driver and fleet customers across commercial and rural environments.
“The new pick-up delivers a larger engine and enhanced styling with the load-carrying, towing and reliability expected from the Isuzu D-Max, as well as returning strong fuel economy and emissions figures.”
The new Isuzu D-Max 2.2 comes with a five-year, 125,000-mile warranty, UK and EU roadside assistance and prices starting from £33,495 CVOTR.
