Škoda has unveiled its updated Enyaq electric vehicle range, promising longer range, faster charging and the ability to power homes from the car.

The latest version of the EV, first launched in 2021 and which has since sold more than 250,000 globally, boasts a maximum range of 365 miles between charges with the facility to recharge from 0 to 80% in 28 minutes.

Like its predecessor the new Enyaq is being offered in both five-door hatch and coupe form, both of which have undergone an aerodynamic makeover to improve their drag coefficient to 0.245 on the hatch and 0.229 on the coupe – aiding range in the process.

Both also now have Škoda’s latest design language – called ‘Modern Solid’, its distinguishing features are a gloss black illuminated frontage and the Škoda bonnet lettering in dark chrome.

The new Enyaq range is available with two battery sizes and three powertrain options. The entry-level SE L gets a 63kWh battery producing 204hp and is only available as a hatch, while the Edition and Sportline can be ordered with both body styles.

The Edition is powered by either the 63kWh battery or a 82kWh unit producing 286hp, and the Sportline exclusively with the larger capacity battery – this model is also all-wheel-drive.

The SE L’s maximum range is quoted at 268 miles and its battery can recharge at 165kW, going from 0 to 80% in 24 minutes.

The larger capacity battery produces the 359-mile range in the Edition (stretching to 365 in the Coupe version) while the all-wheel-drive Sportline offers up to 332 miles between charges, 334 in the Coupe. Both versions with the larger battery with recharge to 80% in 28 minutes.

Both of the upper models also offer bi-directional charging – with a suitable wallbox the car’s battery can be used as a supplementary energy source delivering electrical energy to a home in such situations as a Grid power outage.

Other improvements to the latest Enyaq include the use of more sustainable materials in the interior, which now boasts six distinct design options, and updated digital capabilities, particularly in connectivity. The driver assistance systems have also been significantly updated.
