NISSAN has dropped the entry-level price of the sporty 370Z Coupe by over £3,000 to £26,995 – and there’s a new flagship 370Z Nismo model that comes in at £36,995 as well.
The base car, with 328 PS and 363 Nm of torque, is being touted as a bit of a performance bargain; despite the price drop, it gets a sportier eighteen-inch alloys previously only fitted to 370 Z Roadster models.
the 370Z doesn’t really have any direct rivals
Although the 370Z doesn’t really have any direct rivals – there are few powerful rear-wheel drive sports cars without premium badges – the price adjustment can perhaps be read as a response to the arrival in the UK of Toyota’s GT86 and Subaru’s BRZ.
Next up in the range is the 370Z GT, which, at £31,995, is also more than £3000 cheaper than its predecessor, the GT Pack model, despite improved standard equipment that includes sat nav as standard, nineteen-inch alloys and fancy red brake callipers.
Finally, the new 370Z Nismo, first revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, gets a 16PS power boost to 344PS, a body kit, uprated suspension and brakes, and a sports exhaust.
The changes, though, still leave the GT and Nismo models looking a bit expensive compared with BMW’s premium-badged £30,570 M135i.
The revised base 370Z and 370Z GT go on sale straight away, and the Nismo arrives in June.
