Northgate takes top honour for long-term van hire 

The company, the UK’s largest provider of light commercial vehicle hires, offers 50,000 LCVs for long-term rental with terms up to 48 months. Its One Road initiative, launched in 2024, provides customers with a single point of contact, contributing to a Trust Pilot score of 4.9 and a 171% increase in Net Promoter Score. Northgate’s expansion into car rentals and micromobility vehicles further enhances its appeal as a one-stop shop for fleet managers. 

A key focus for Northgate is supporting the transition to electric vehicles. Its fleet includes 12 EV van types and six micromobility options, alongside initiatives like EV roadshows and pre-ordering policies to address supply delays. The company also offers an EV charger and bundle package, combining vehicle and charging infrastructure under a single monthly payment. Telematics solutions, fuel cards, and accident management services are integrated into rental contracts to simplify administration for SMEs. 

Northgate’s customer support includes 24-hour replacement vehicles, in-house damage management, and a fleet management package that handles servicing, MOTs, and insurance renewals. The company’s telematics adoption has grown significantly, with over 10,500 units in use, helping fleets monitor driver behaviour and prepare for electrification. Additional tools like the Northgate Vehicle Inspection App ensure compliance with industry standards while reducing paperwork.
