OMODA has confirmed that deliveries of its flagship model, the OMODA 9 SHS, have begun.
The plug-in hybrid SUV starts at £44,990, with 449PS combined, for a 0-62mph time of 4.9 seconds.
A 34.5kWh battery allows for 93 miles of range in full electric mode, while combined range is over 700 miles.
Power comes from a 1.5-litre engine producing 156PS, with the two electric motors making up the rest.
All-wheel drive and a three-speed automatic gearbox is standard.
Victor Zhang, country director at OMODA UK, said: “Seeing the first OMODA 9 SHS vehicles reach customers is a significant milestone.
“This model represents everything we stand for – intelligent engineering, elegant design and hybrid technology that fits seamlessly into daily life – without the premium price tag.”
Standard equipment on the OMODA 9 includes a panoramic camera system, heated and ventilated front and outer rear seats, and a curved 24.6-inch screen.
All models are supplied with a 7-year, 100,000 mile warranty, with an 8-year battery warranty, and free RAC home start cover.
Zhang said: “Our SHS system, which also powers the best-selling JAECOO 7 SHS, proves that hybrid technology has evolved.
“The OMODA 9 SHS delivers electric-like performance, exceptional comfort and true ease of use.
“It’s the kind of car that offers more than just efficiency – it brings power, calm, and a real sense of quality to every journey.”
The OMODA 9 also offers cabin air purification, a panoramic sunroof, and a 14-speaker sound system from Sony.
OMODA, part of Chinese car manufacturing giant Chery, has a growing presence in the UK, now selling through 74 dealers.
