Petit Forestier says it is seeing clear operational efficiencies following the introduction of AssetGo across its refrigerated fleet, as part of a wider digital transformation programme.

The business, founded in 1907 and operating in more than 20 countries, adopted AssetGo in April 2025. Since then, a significant proportion of its 4,233 assets and 141 users have been onboarded to the system. The platform is being used primarily for maintenance management and digital checklists, with 35 checklists currently live across the fleet.

Petit Forestier said the move away from paper-based processes has been central to improving efficiency across its high-intensity, 24/7 refrigerated transport and rental operation.

Darren Cotterill, fleet engineer at Petit Forestier, said the decision was driven by the need for a system that could support maintenance and compliance while providing a scalable digital foundation.

He said: “We chose AssetGo because of its great reputation and approachable team. We were looking for a system that could handle maintenance and checklists predominantly but also give us a digital backbone we could build on.”

Cotterill added that the onboarding process was straightforward, with close support from AssetGo to ensure staff were confident using the platform. He said ongoing support had also been strong, helping the business resolve issues quickly as usage expanded.

According to Petit Forestier, the operational impact has been significant. The business said it now has real-time visibility across most of its assets, with faster and more accurate access to data.

Administrative workloads have reduced, while compliance, including meeting DVSA expectations, has become easier to manage. The company also reported reduced downtime as a result of more proactive maintenance tracking.

Cotterill said the return on investment was achieved quickly, with savings generated through reduced administration, faster processes and improved data accuracy within the first year of use.

Petit Forestier is now assessing additional AssetGo modules as it continues to develop its digital systems. Beyond maintenance and checklists, the AssetGo platform includes tools for asset tracking, compliance reminders, digital inspections, work-order scheduling, parts and inventory management and reporting dashboards.

The company serves more than 15,000 customers worldwide and operates one of the largest refrigerated fleets globally.
