What’s hot
- Grown up design language makes the 108 look both sophisticated and quite feminine.
- Equipment levels impress on all but the base model.
- Excellent city car with tight turning circle, light controls and good visibility.
- Good ride quality over most surfaces.
- New 1.2-litre engine remains frugal but adds a useful amount of extra poke.
- Personalisation packs are distinctive without, for the most part, being too outrageous.
What’s not
- Cheap and shiny plastics on the inside don’t match the high quality exterior style.
- The 108 is a tricky car to get comfortable in, as the driver’s seat is mounted high, plus the steering wheel only adjusts for rake.
- 1.0-litre engine is rough when worked hard and asthmatic when not.
- Gearbox is vague to operate especially when making quick changes.
- Fabric roof is very noisy when open at speed.
