PEUGEOT has released more details about its new 2008 baby crossover, which arrives in UK showrooms on 18 July. Prices will start at £12,995.
Four trim levels, already familiar from other recently-introduced Peugeot models, will be available – Access+, Active, Allure & Feline, with 2008 models commanding a premium of less than £1,000 over their 208 hatchback equivalents.

The two cars share a great deal under the skin, but the 2008 is roomier and more practical.
Company car drivers will be drawn to CO2 emissions of as little as 98g/km depending on engine choice – and the new 83 horsepower 3-cylinder VTi petrol engine could give the frugal diesel versions a run for their money as well.
Unlike the Nissan Juke, which pioneered the market for small crossovers, the 2008 won’t be offered with four-wheel drive but more expensive variants get an enhanced traction control system called Grip Control, which helps out when the going gets sticky. Or perhaps slippery.
The 2008’s main rival for company car sales in this burgeoning sector is likely to be Renault’s similarly-sized Captur but Ford’s EcoSport may provide some stiff competition too when it arrives later in the year.
