Peugeot is claiming the new long-range versions of its E-3008 and E-5008 electric vehicles will go further than any rival.
The two new models will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October, with WLTP-dertified ranges of up to 435 and 415 miles respectively.
Both employ a new 230hp (170kW) powertrain with a high-capacity battery and sitting alongside the existing 210hp (157kW) powertrain which offers up to 326 miles or 311 miles of range respectively.

The two long-range models also employ a new battery pre-conditioning system, allowing for optimised charging times during long journeys.
Manufactured in Sochaux, France and equipped with batteries produced at the ACC gigafactory in the northern French town of Douvrin, the Peugeot E-3008 and E-5008 Long-Range models both use the brand’s STLA-Medium ‘BEV-by-Design’ platform – this allows for a greater amount of energy to be stored between the wheels with a battery that is only 15mm thicker while preserving the cabin and boot space that is found on the 210HP 73kWh version as well as the hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
The E-3008 and-%008 230 Long Range also bring improvements in charging time, accepting up to 160 kW power on DC rapid chargers, taking 27 minutes to replenish battery capacity from 20 to 80%, adding 93 miles of range in 10 minutes.
