Peugeot has updated its 208 and 2008, with a new trim level, and a series of powertrain improvements for electric and hybrid models.

The E-208 now has up to 268 miles of range, an increase of 14, giving it the longest range of any car in the segment.

The E-2008 now has a range of 250 miles, when equipped with the larger 54kWh battery.

Vehicle-to-load is now offered on both electric models, exclusively on the larger battery versions.

The two variants of the 208 Hybrid now have an additional 10PS each, for a total of 110PS or 145PS, with the 2008 Hybrid offered exclusively with the more powerful engine.

A new trim level, the GT PREMIUM, has been launched, available on combustion, hybrid and electric variants of the 208 and 2008.

The trim level sits at the top of the range, adding heated front seats, an electric driver’s seat with massage function and lumbar support, a front parking camera, adaptive cruise control (not available with the manual gearbox), and blind spot monitoring.

Prices for the GT PREMIUM models start at £28,995, for the non-hybrid 208, with the 1.2-litre 100PS engine and the manual gearbox, rising to £30,100 for the hybrid, and £34,000 for the E-208 with the larger 50kWh battery.

The 2008 GT Premium starts at £35,095 with the 1.2-litre 130PS engine and automatic gearbox, with the hybrid available from £35,870, and the 54kWh-battery-equipped E-2008 available from £39,310.
