Porsche is the most successful marque in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, winning an unrivalled 19 times. Six of those titles came with a British driver and now Porsche is celebrating with a limited edition model to commemorate those wins.

The drivers in question – Richard Attwood (1970), Derek Bell MBE (1981, 1982, 1986, 1987), and Nick Tandy (2015) – all had a hand in designing the new car, each with a nod to the their title winning car.

There are three versions of the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS British Legends Edition on offer. Each one is unique to a particular driver and identified by the number of their winning car and its colour scheme. Each car also bears a Union Jack symbol and the driver’s signature to underline their authenticity.

The limited edition models are based on the 911 Carrera 4 GTS, the fastest sprinter in the 911 Carrera family. The 3.0-litre flat-six cylinder ‘boxer’ engine in the 911 GTS offers 450bhp is the ideal starting point for the British Legends Edition. Fitted with the optional PDK transmission it can accelerate from zero to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds.

As with the 911 Carrera, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is standard on GTS models. The British Legends Edition features PASM sports suspension and PDCC, which lowers the body by 10 mm. Each GTS also features the Sport Chrono Package incorporating dynamic engine mounts and steering wheel-mounted mode switch, plus a switchable, modified sports exhaust system.

As well as the standard equipment the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS British Legends Edition also boasts some extra highlights. On top of the unique numbers and colours available the new car also features LED Headlights, extended rear spoiler, and adaptive Sports seats Plus with 18-way powered adjustment and memory package.

Completing the package is the Alcantara GTS interior package with Rhodium Silver contrasting stitching, a GT sports steering wheel in Alcantara with ’12 o’clock marking’ in red, door sill guards in carbon with a Union Jack motif and ‘911 Carrera 4 GTS British Legends Edition’ lettering that is illuminated in the corresponding exterior colour, and the centre console lid is also finished in Alcantara embossed with the name and signature of the driver.
