ADVANCED pumping solutions provider, Grundfos Pumps, has cut its daily rentals expenditure by 42 percent following consultation with business mobility specialist, Alphabet.

Corporate car sharing scheme

Alphabet’s corporate car sharing scheme, AlphaCity, has significantly reduced the amount of time and money Grundfos spends on managing its vehicles. As a result, this has enabled it to refocus its efforts on sales performance and customer service needs.

The car sharing system was introduced into the business in November 2013 and in this time, Grundfos has reduced its expenditure on daily rental by over £5000. It has also achieved better visibility of when and where company vehicles are being used at any given time, and remained compliant whilst improving its environmental footprint.

Grundfos employees now utilise a BMW 320 EfficientDynamics saloon, which is equipped with AlphaCity’s corporate car sharing technology, for most business journeys.

Operations Director at Grundfos Pumps Ltd, Jason Funnell, said;

“At Grundfos we’re responsible for 1.5 per cent of the world’s energy consumption, so it’s vital that we take steps to reduce our energy consumption and improve our carbon footprint where possible. AlphaCity has given us the ability to do this whilst simultaneously reducing time, stress and costs.

“Previously we were dependent on rental vehicles, which were not only time-intensive to manage, but there was no guarantee that the vehicle delivered would be environmentally friendly. Also due to the timing of business journeys, more often than not vehicles had to be delivered a day in advance, and returned a day after, tripling costs unnecessarily.”
