RAC warns drivers to anticipate Glastonbury traffic hike

Queues on the M5 at Puriton more than doubled between 8pm and 9pm on the Tuesday last year, when compared to a normal day.

RAC has advised that traffic from the Glastonbury music festival will be worst between 7am and 2pm on Wednesday 25th June, with local routes as well as the M4, M5, and A303 set to face delays as early as the evening before.

Google Maps traffic data analysed by RAC showed that queues on the M5 at Puriton more than doubled between 8pm and 9pm on the Tuesday last year, when compared to a normal day.

The A39, which connects the festival to the M5 southbound, saw delays of over 30 minutes on Glastonbury’s Wednesday last year.
