Renault has presented a production-ready version of the Trafic E-Tech electric van, with a range of up to 280 miles.

First deliveries of the van are expected in late 2026, while chassis cab, platform cab, tipper, flatbed and cargo box variants will follow.

The Trafic E-Tech is built on a new platform, designed to optimise load capacity.

Renault said it has the same 10.3 metre turning circle as a Clio.

800V fast charging features on the van, allowing 162 miles of range to be added in around 20 minutes.

In addition to the 280-mile long range battery, Renault will later offer an urban range variant, offering 217 miles of range.

The urban range battery uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology and requires no rare metals, which Renault said allows it to be competitively priced.

All models will have a 204PS, rear-mounted electric motor and Renault expects the van to have a two-tonne towing capacity, along with a 1.25 tonne payload.

L1 and L2 variants will be offered, with 5.1 and 5.8 square metres of load capacity respectively.

Renault said that overall height has been reduced, allowing the van to access all underground car parks.

Large doors allow Euro pallets to be loaded from the side or rear.

Vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) will be standard, allowing the van to power appliances and perform bi-directional charging.

The current, internal combustion (ICE) Trafic will continue to be produced.

Renault said it aims to manufacture the Trafic E-Tech using more than 23% recycled materials.

The Trafic E-Tech will also integrate a driver identification feature, designed for fleets, which generates QR codes on the interior screen.
