Renault has opened order books for the Master E-Tech electric large van, with first UK deliveries expected in December.
The van, which has already taken a host of categories in the annual Van of the Year contest including the overall award, is on sale at £37,500 plus VAT after the Government’s Plug-in Van Grant is taken into account.
The full electric version of the fourth-generation Master offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 285 miles, improved by 20% over its predecessor and claimed by Renault to be class-leading.
It is powered by a 105kW (143hp) motor with 300Nm of torque and an 87kWh battery. A 130kW DC fast charge adds 142 miles of range in 30 minutes, while a 22kW AC charger will replenish the battery from 10% to 100% in just under four hours.
The Master Electric is available in a range of versions spanning load spaces of 11 to 14.8 cubic metres, a record-high payload capacity of up 1,625kg and with a 2.5-tonne towing capability. The sliding side door has a 40mm wider opening and the load space has been increased in length by 100mm longer load.
Renault states that the Master E-Tech 100% electric’s interior has been made upmarket and car-like with a 25% increase in total cabin storage. Renault’s OpenR Link multimedia system is standard on all versions, centring on a 10-inch screen with wired and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Google built-in can be added to the system on the Extra trim level.
All versions are fitted as standard with 20 driver assistance systems, active safety features including lateral stability, automatic emergency braking and trailer stability assist systems. It also comes with Intelligent Speed Assist, helping the driver stay within speed limits.
