SURVEY results by LeasePlan show that size of vehicle is the most important factor for 80% of company car drivers when they are choosing their vehicle.

  • The international survey polled over 3,000 drivers in 20 countries. However, although size was not in all cases important, with 25% of respondents stating that they want to drive a smaller car in future.
  • 76% of UK drivers said that size was the most important factor, with 29% already driving a small car, a further 11% planning to drive a smaller car in the future
  • In the UK, a low tax allowance and CO2 emissions were almost as important as the car itself, with 75% of UK respondents describing these factors as important.

LeasePlan Managing Director, Matt Dyer, said;

“Our research shows that decisions about which car to drive are governed by practicalities. Appearance will always matter but for an increasing number of company car drivers, lower emissions is more important than looks.

“Amongst our UK respondents, CO2 emissions were joint second to low tax allowance, showing just how important environmental credentials are to drivers.
