Škoda UK has launched the Enyaq Cargo, a new commercial vehicle variant of its electric SUV, developed in collaboration with Strongs Plastic Products Ltd and available exclusively through the brand’s Area Fleet Managers.

The model has been officially registered with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) as a light commercial vehicle from new.

It was initially developed for National Grid Energy Distribution (NGED), which commissioned the project in 2024 and has since taken delivery of 70 units.

NGED plans to continue replacing older service vehicles with the Enyaq Cargo as part of its broader fleet decarbonisation strategy.

The operator currently runs more than 300 electric vans and 600 electric company cars, positioning it among the largest EV fleets in the UK.

Built on the Enyaq 85 and 85x platforms, the Cargo variant combines long-range electric performance with practical conversion features.

Its load compartment is constructed from durable, lightweight plastic to meet safety requirements without compromising efficiency, and a full-height bulkhead separates the cabin from the rear space. The model has been engineered with flexibility in mind to suit a range of operational requirements.

Škoda UK and Strongs worked closely with the DVSA during development to ensure the Enyaq Cargo met all light commercial vehicle regulations.

The Enyaq 85 offers a WLTP range of 359 miles and supports charging at up to 135 kW, while the all-wheel-drive 85x version offers 332 miles and charges at up to 175 kW, allowing a 10–80% charge in around 28 minutes.

This is the first time a battery electric Škoda has been offered as a dedicated commercial model. Pricing for the Enyaq Edition 85 starts at £44,310 OTR, with conversion from £1,815 + VAT, depending on specification.
