ANYONE who thought hybrid cars were designed solely for short journeys and urban commutes, should think again.
Green energy installer, Renewable Solutions UK, has clocked up 100,000 miles in its Honda CR-Z – and over half a million miles in its ten-strong fleet of Honda hybrids.
Honda now offers a five-year, 90,000-mile warranty on its hybrid drivetrains
The vehicles – which include CR-Z, Jazz and Insight models – are all used on a daily basis for work up and down the country, carrying out domestic and commercial energy installations. Each one doing its part to cut costs thanks to reduced fuel consumption and low road tax across the small fleet.
For added peace of mind, Honda now offers a five-year, 90,000-mile warranty on its IMA hybrid drivetrains – in addition to the standard three-year, 90,000-mile warranty.

The first Honda hybrid to grace the Renewable Soloutions fleet was the CR-Z sports car in 2010.
It mixes nippy performance and low running costs, and is the perfect proposition for a company car driver looking for something fun to drive at the weekend. 116g/km CO2 emissions mean it qualifies for 14% company car tax, costing £579 per year at 20% or £1159 per year at 40%.
Renewable Solutions has its head office in Bromborough and employs more than 40 full-time staff. The company, founded in 2008, provides domestic and commercial customers with renewable energy solutions including turbines, solar PV, solar thermal, heat pumps and biomass.
