BIG winner at the 2015 SME Company Car of the Year Awards, run by Business Car Manager was BMW.
Not only was the 5-Series named SME Company Car of the Year, it also walked away with the hard-fought Best SME Directors Company Car award too.
A panel of expert judges – chaired by Paul Hollick, recently elected to the chairmanship of the Institute of Car Fleet Management – were impressed with the 5-Series’ mix of best in class Co2 and fuel consumption figures, equipment levels and the fact it’s great fun to drive .
Range highlight, was the BMW 520d SE Auto, which has all the kit an SME company car driver could need, yet can sprint to 62mph in just 7.7seconds and has impressively low Co2 emissions of just 109g/km. Great to drive, affordable to run – surely the current BMW 5-Series is the default company car of choice.
As well as scooping the overall title, BMW also picked up first place in the Best Green Company Car category

Current Car of The Year, the Peugeot 308 added to its award tally, with the 1.6 BlueHDi version taking Best SME Company Car to Buy, with the sharp-suited, high-value SEAT Leon winning the Best SME Compact Company Car award.
Hyundai again claimed top honours for the Best SME Aftersales Programme, for its all-new Fleet Aftersales Charter.
Chairman of the Institute of Car Fleet Management, Paul Hollick chaired an experienced team of judges consisting of Martin Brown, managing director of Fleet Alliance and Steve Cocks, director broker division at Lex Autolease.
Also on the panel was Auto Express’ assistant news editor, Jonathan Burn, managing director at CD Auction Group, Andy Brown, and company car expert Colin Tourick.
