Source has launched its first ultra-rapid charging hub at Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal, offering van fleet operators access to six 160kW chargers capable of delivering a full charge in approximately 15 minutes, significantly reducing downtime for electric commercial vehicles.
The 12-bay site features user-friendly interfaces and contactless payment systems designed to improve the charging experience for drivers of electric vans and light commercial vehicles, addressing key concerns for businesses transitioning to electric fleets.
Backed by SSE and TotalEnergies, Source is launching the first of more than 300 planned hubs with the explicit goal of reshaping charging expectations for fleet operators.
The site is powered entirely by renewable energy, supporting sustainability goals for businesses operating electric van fleets.
Edinburgh-based company WarmWorks, which has already electrified 70% of its 45-vehicle fleet, confirms the hub’s strategic importance for its operations and driver convenience, demonstrating the facility’s relevance for companies using electric light commercial vehicles.
