Spire group signs up for DCM telematics

  • Spire Automotive Group implements DCM Connected telematics system over 19 sites
  • Dealer Car Manager system and DCM Connected create advanced dealer fleet management systems
  • DCM Connected identified false claims during Spire’s 6-month trial
  • Trial proved DCM Connected provides visibility and cost savings to fleet managers

DCM Connected telematics now features at 19 dealerships and service centres following a successful trial helped Spire group sign up for telematics software.

The specialised software, which allows fleet and lease managers to track their vehicles, monitor how they are being driven and provide streamlined customer service, is being implemented across all of Spire’s sites.

Thanks to the sophistication of the DCM Connected software, accidents can be effectively reconstructed by recreating the moments before and after a collision. In fact, during its trial a Spire courtesy car was involved in an incident but DCM Connected was able to establish that the vehicle was not in the stated location at the time of the alleged incident.  The claim was later dismissed as fraudulent.

The respected dealership group, which covers North London, Hertfordshire and Essex, works with a wide range of prestigious brands including BMW, Audi and Jaguar and now combines its DCML Dealer Car Manager software  seamlessly with the new DCM Connected solution.

Carl Thompson, divisional brand director of Spire Automotive, said as Spire group signs up for telematics: “This innovative system really gives us full control over all of our fleets, it has demonstrated false claims and helped overcome them. It is superfast at locating vehicles and has genuinely enhanced our utilisations across the group.”

Phil Hodkinson, DCML sales director, added: “Following a trial with the group, I see this long-term partnership as evidence of the sophistication of the software and the real-world results it attains.

“As well as the identification of the false claims, DCM Connected introduces a new level of control and visibility for dealer fleets, including monitoring risky driver behaviour, vehicle location, vehicle faults and improved management of vehicles entering roads with chargeable tolls and high risk areas such as race tracks.  DCM Connected is unsurprisingly growing in popularity.”

As well as supporting over 1,000 franchised dealerships, DCML assists manufacturers with efficient online marketing tools.
