Stellar Insurance Reinstatement Services has partnered with SureCam to install dual-camera video telematics across its fleet of 80 vans operating in Scotland and the North of England. The rollout is designed to improve road safety, cut insurance-related costs and support driver welfare.
“The SureCam solution is giving us added visibility of what is happening on the road, so we can identify and challenge non-fault claims, while having the insight needed to encourage defensive and responsible driving styles,” said Ross Cooper, managing director at Stellar Insurance Reinstatement Services. “As the technology becomes an integral part of our processes and systems, it will help us to eliminate avoidable insurance-and fleet-related costs, minimise road and driver risk, and protect the reputation of the business.”
SureCam’s system includes a forward-facing dashcam and a rugged rear-facing camera, offering full incident visibility in the event of a collision or near miss. It also features a panic alarm for drivers and the ability to live-stream footage, allowing the company to respond rapidly to emergencies and check driver welfare in real time.
Currently fitted to 80% of the fleet, the camera system will be installed in remaining vehicles as part of Stellar’s ongoing replacement programme with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent. The phased installation was designed to minimise operational disruption, with Stellar working closely with SureCam and Enterprise to ensure a smooth rollout.
“The overall feedback from drivers has been very positive, with a growing understanding of the benefits the camera system can provide,” added Cooper. “We have been open and upfront with our mobile teams throughout the roll-out to ensure they are aware of our objectives and we can quickly address any concerns. This has resulted in widespread buy-in that will enable us to use the technology to better engage and coach drivers moving forward.”
