Tesco.com named Logistics UK Van Business of the Year

At its annual Logistics Awards, Logistics UK named Tesco.com the Van Business of the Year, while Efret and Northgate Vehicle Hire were highly commended.

Logistics UK said Tesco.com has a sector-leading approach to compliance, safety and sustainability, due to in-house safety managers, predictive risk analysis and rigorous driver training.

It said that Tesco.com sets the standard for van fleet operations.

Kevin Green, acting chief executive at Logistics UK, said: “Tesco.com has an extremely professional approach to its operations, from driver recruitment, assessment and development through to the operation of a van fleet in excess of 6,000.

“I would like to congratulate Tesco.com on its win; it truly represents the ‘best of the best’ in the van sector.”

Rob Smallwood, fleet operations manager at Tesco, said: “This is amazing, it’s been a while since we’ve been able to pick up an award for our business, this is something to be really proud of and it’s great to be recognised.

“Over the years I think we have proved to be consistent in delivering for our customers and this is all down to having a fantastic team.”

Other awards included International Logistics Business of the Year, won by Cardinal Global Logistics, Decarbonisation Initiative of the Year, presented to Evri and Logistics Technology Provider of the Year, which was won by Parcelly.
