HERE’S a car that every business should consider.

A BMW that doesn’t consume the business bank account. But saves on fuel costs at the pumps. And cheats the taxman on company car tax.

The BMW 316d ES saloon covers 62.8mpg on a gallon of diesel. And with just 118g/km CO2 emissions, it qualifies for the lowest diesel company car tax band: 13% – the same tax band as a VW Golf 1.6 TDI SE.

For a 20% company car tax payer, the 316d ES costs £604 a year; and for a 40% tax payer, it’s £1208 a year.

The new BMW 316d ES costs £23,330 and is on sale from September. Standard equipment includes air conditioning; multi-function leather steering wheel; electric windows; front fog lamps; 16 inch alloy wheels; and anti-skid Dynamic Stability Control (DSC).
