Trakm8 has launched an AI-enabled dashcam with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) functionality, designed to help fleets reduce risky driving behaviours and improve road safety.

The RH600 Plus, powered by Trakm8’s Insight fleet management platform, combines high-definition video capture with AI algorithms to identify and alert drivers to hazardous behaviour in real time.

The system includes features such as driver fatigue detection, distracted driving alerts and tailgating warnings, enabling fleet operators to move from reviewing incidents after they occur to proactively preventing them.

Trakm8 said the platform also provides enhanced reporting capabilities, categorising behaviours such as distracted driving into specific actions including mobile phone use, eating and drinking, allowing for more targeted intervention.

The RH600 Plus builds on the company’s existing driver monitoring solutions, adding real-time audible voice coaching alerts when signs of fatigue, distraction or unsafe stopping distances are detected.

In a customer trial, the system delivered a 75% reduction in incidents of distracted driving, according to Trakm8.

The company added that its edge inference algorithm allows alerts and reporting to be tailored to individual fleet operations, helping to reduce false alerts and improve usability for both drivers and fleet managers.

Iain Stringer, chief executive at Trakm8, said: “Fleet Managers are under more pressure than ever to improve driver safety while reducing costs.

“This new AI-enhanced RH600 Plus dash cam, together with Trakm8’s unique ADAS solution, gives fleets the ability to intervene earlier, coach drivers more effectively and reduce risky driving behaviours.

“The impact is simple: fewer incidents, safer drivers and lower operational risk.”
