The used LCV market made a good start to 2026 at BCA as values reached their highest point since March 2024.

LCVs averaged £8,569 across the board in January 2026, a rise of £540 (6.7%) compared to December 2025, and £845 (10.9%) ahead year-on-year.

Buyer numbers increased over the month. Despite some significant LCV entries, bidding remained competitive at BCA during January.

More than 2,600 unique buyers purchased during the month, and average values outperformed guide price expectations by 6%.

Stuart Pearson, COO of BCA, said: “The used LCV market made a very encouraging start in 2026, achieving the highest average monthly value in almost two years and reflecting some exceptional levels of demand across our seven-day-a-week online sales programme.

“Sales volumes improved significantly into January as professional buyers competed strongly, and the momentum has continued into February.

“With new van sales remaining depressed according to the latest SMMT data, it is no surprise that used LCVs are being well-fought over as professional buyers look to satisfy consumer demand at a different value point.

“BCA continues to offer more than 2,000 fresh-to-market LCVs across a range of sales every week, with the widest choice of panel vans, car sized vans, Lutons, 4×4 single and double cabs and specialist commercial vehicles available in the wholesale marketplace.”

He added: “Demand remained strong across the entire range of stock on offer in January, with younger, higher spec vehicles that were ready to retail attracting particular attention and typically achieving values well above market expectations.

“All forms of pick-ups have been sought after and, whilst some niche product requires additional attention to give it the best chance of selling first time, anything in an interesting metallic colour continues to stand out and attract a premium.”
