Shell service stations in the UK will now accept UTA cards.

Adding 500 Shell service stations brings UTA’s UK network to over 1,660 stations, including 60 Circle K locations in Northern Ireland, and all BP stations nationwide.

UTA cardholders can purchase diesel, petrol, and AdBlue across Shell locations.

Lukas Schneider, commercial director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at UTA Edenred, said: “Shell is one of our most progressive acceptance partners.

“We’ve been working with them successfully for years.

“The launch of UTA acceptance at Shell in the UK is another milestone in the development of our European fuel network and delivers yet more value for our customers.”

Across 40 European countries, UTA cards are now accepted at more than 87,000 points, providing biodiesel, compressed or liquified natural gas (CNG and LNG), in addition to conventional fuels.

UTA is also rolling out UTA eCharge, which will cover electric vehicle (EV) charging.

Jérôme Reinecke, head of roaming and pricing for Europe at Shell, said: “Shell and UTA Edenred have a long-standing successful collaboration across a range of European markets.

“We are pleased to welcome UTA Edenred’s customers to Shell stations in the UK and offer them our wide range of quality products and services.”
