VAUXHALL wants to get better and bigger in vans, so the company – through its owner in Europe, Opel – has decided to create a Van Centre of Excellence.

The Van Centre of Excellence will be based in Opel’s European HQ in Russelsheim, Germany, announced Charles Klein, executive chief engineer commercial vehicles, Opel Europe at the unveil of the all-new Vauxhall Vivaro.

“I want the guys in the van centre to eat, drink, sleep CVs,” he said, announcing the initiative.

There will be a director of van excellence, with dedicated staff that brings together Vauxhall/Opel marketing and engineering staff under one roof.

“It’s a real commitment to put a higher focus on commercial vehicles,” added Charles.

“Vauxhall has always had a committed group of guys in the UK and we are learning from them.

“We want to put together a cohesive team that will expand our van presence across Europe and communicate the number of van variants and options that we can offer, both to small trades and larger fleets.”
